A Buddhist Physician’s Fear of Death Leads to PTSD

I’ve just read an article in Psychology Today written by a Buddhist physician on the blooming of his fear of death in the face of illness. The fear grew to such an extent, it developed into Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. The physician, Alex Lickerman, writes with a touching openness about his fear. He never overcomes it, however, because of his belief that his identity will be annihilated at death. Physicians are notorious anyway for their fear of illness and death.
